An Anime-Style Recreation of Tokyo Made With Unreal Engine 5

You can experience the environment yourself by downloading the demo version of the project provided by the creator.

Freelance Environment/Lighting Artist Yan Ru, who earlier showcased an impressive NPR Japanese-style 3D scene, has presented Anime Tokyo, a large-scale recreation of Japan's capital city stylized as a location from a typical anime series.

Described by its creator as "a new form of game art", the project was made using 3ds Max, Sketchfab assets, and Unreal Engine 5 and its Lumen and Nanite features. While the project is still WiP, with the developer planning to release it via Steam at a later date, the demo version of the environment is already available and can be downloaded for free over here.

And here are some amazing renders and GIFs shared by Yan, you can check out more by clicking this link:

Earlier, we also spoke with Yan about the Majestic Ballroom project, inspired by the Palace of Versailles and the Paris Opera, with the artist sharing the working process behind the scene, showing how Nanite in UE 5.1 was used, and explaining the lighting setup. You can check out our interview with the artist here.
