36 years after Atari released its first Fatal Run vehicular combat game, the title is getting a major upgrade (just like some others, as Atari promised a while ago). MNSTR Studio's Fatal Run 2089 is an upcoming Cyberpunk-style twist on the original game. It is still set in a post-apocalyptic environment, except it's full of neon lights and endless skyscrapers.

Like in the original version of Fatal Run, you're going to race at unimaginable speeds to outrun your enemies and deliver the anti-radiation solution on time to save humanity. You will have an arsenal of weapons to take other cars out, or you can simply push them off the track if that's what you prefer.

In the game, there are 20 levels that take you through 4 landscapes. Aside from fighting your enemies on the road, you'll have to defeat 4 bosses in the game. There are 4 co-pilots with different skills and personalities to accompany you on this intense journey.

In Fatal Run 2089, there are 7 vehicles to choose from, each with distinct performance characteristics. Once you pick your ride, you can't switch it mid-journey. The light cars will carry you through the post-apocalyptic roads in no time, but the heavy ones will make you a mighty beast no one can push off the track.
