Indie Dev Shows Clothespin NPC for Upcoming Adventure Mystery Game Lost & Found

The Blender setup supports the game's nostalgic atmosphere and mixed-media art approach.

Game Developer ShaggyBearGames unveiled this cool setup with clothespins, which is an NPC for his upcoming adventure-mystery 2.5D game Lost & Found.

Created using Blender, the setup has a strong nostalgic feel and references the good old times when such household items were used as toys by kids. "These were my legos x gundam toys back then," the developer shared.

The game Lost & Found, which is currently in development, also has a nostalgic flair: set in 2007, it immerses players in the atmosphere of a small 2000s town in summer. You play as Rico, a recently laid-off artist unable to find work in the city, who heads back to his hometown, taking the only job available: working at the local Lost and Found office.

The character explores his hometown, which has changed a lot, and helps residents find their belongings, also learning their stories. But the job is not that simple: some would unexpectedly claim items that are not theirs, so you need to find out who's lying and uncover other secrets of the locals.

"From a decade-old wallet to an old notebook that holds a legendary bread recipe, each item contains a piece of someone’s life. Returning them to the right hands may uncover stories and change a life for the better, but giving them to the wrong individual may lead to unexpected consequences that affect the story of the game."

Each character, like the shown clothespin guy, is designed to look and feel unique. The game features an unusual art style created with mixed media blending 2D, 3D, pixel art, and more, brought to the screen using a mix of Unity, Photoshop, Krita, Blender, Aseprite, and Toon Boom.
