Battlefield 6 is reportedly undergoing the biggest playtests in the franchise's history. After the releases of Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042, which didn't meet fans' expectations, the developers seem to be intensely preparing for the next release, collecting players' feedback and employing the "player-first" approach.
The developers hold small feedback sessions and large-scale player tests. Reportedly, playtests involving external players are conducted more frequently, and feedback is collected more extensively than ever before. EA reportedly intends to bring back the Battlefield Community Test Environment, but there's no detail as to what extent it was incorporated at the time.
The new Battlefield game is said to have the most resources compared to other games in the series. Four studios work on the title: DICE, Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect.

Battlefield 6 will be set in modern times, and the developers decided to "go back to basics approach." Also, it was previously said the game would feature 64-player matches and a 4-class system while revamping the destruction systems. The next franchise installment is also claimed to have "the most realistic and exciting destruction effects in the industry."
