Beautifully Fragile Falling Sand Shader Created for Game

Egor Poskriakov is improving his Reytrieve Odyssey.

Еgor Poskriakov's Reytrieve Odyssey is still in development, but you can see his progress on X/Twitter. One of the latest improvements he introduced is an updated falling sand shader made in Unreal Engine.

The sand now scatters more naturally in the wind and "stays super cheap thanks to dithering."

Reytrieve Odyssey is a "high-energy" 3D platformer where you play as an android girl tasked to retrieve mysterious data disks. "Switch between powerful cartridges, explore giant colorful islands, and uncover the secrets of a broken world!"

It doesn't have a release date yet, but you can follow its development on Poskriakov's X/Twitter and wishlist the game on Steam.
