The project was even approved by the developer of the original game.
VR/AR Developer and YouTuber Quentin Valembois, a.k.a. Valem, has presented a VR recreation of Getting Over It, a legendary rage-inducing game developed by Bennett Foddy and released back in 2017. The VR version of the game features the same map present in the original, albeit in 3D, and has the same main character Diogenes wielding his trusty hammer to climb various surfaces. Much like the original Getting Over It, the VR recreation of the game was developed with Unity.
Moreover, Valembois also released a comprehensive making-of video showcasing the development process, explaining how the character model was fit in the barrel and how the physics were set up, and telling how some of the original's most nuanced moments were remade in VR. You can check out the video attached below or by visiting Valem's YouTube page.
The project was even approved by Bennet Foddy himself:
At the moment, the developer is working on optimizing the game and plans to release it once the project is refined and game-ready. You can follow the development process by visiting Valem's Twitter page.
