Jacques Lucke confirmed that the node-based simulation framework is coming with the next big update.
Blender's Developer, Jacques Lucke, recently made an announcement that the simulation nodes for Blender will be included in the next daily build of the software. This means that the long-awaited framework for setting up particle-based simulations will be available in Blender 3.6, a major update of the 3D software scheduled to launch on June 27, 2023.
According to Lucke, the initial version will only offer basic baking capabilities, with the aim being to enhance the baking functionality significantly in the coming weeks.
Last year, the new simulation features were introduced in an experimental branch of the software with the intention of being incorporated into the main branch for Blender 3.5. However, when Blender 3.5 was released in March, the simulation system was not included. Nonetheless, Lucke's tweet now seems to indicate a greater level of certainty regarding the new nodes, linking to a commit.
At the moment, the simulation nodes are available in the most recent daily build of Blender 3.6, currently in alpha, which can be downloaded here.
