Online 3D models marketplace CGTrader is running the CGTrader Awards: a worldwide art contest with the prize pool of over $50,000 in value. Since the CGTrader Awards: Best 3D art around the web is nearing to an end, CGTrader chose the best artworks from about 2500 submissions in total – the absolute leaders for each category. CGTrader invites you on a journey to the animation world. Discover the new unseen or newly reimagined characters that look like they stepped out straight from an animated movie. CGTrader has chosen the highlights of the Cartoon category, take a look:

Shortly about the CGTrader Awards
Users can choose from six different categories to submit their artworks: Character, Cartoon, Environment/Scene, Sci-fi, Fantasy and Photorealism. Up to five different renders can be submitted to one category.
The prize pool is rather impressive – there are licenses of Cinema 4D, Modo, 3D-Coat and KeyShot, plugins and other tools, online rendering credits and even a 3D printing pen – in every category the prizes are above $4,000.
