CD Projekt Red Has Had Its Best Financial Quarter in History

The company's Q3 2022 financial success was largely driven by Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red has announced its financial results for the third quarter of the year, stating that the studio earned $54.6 million in revenue over the financial quarter, with the profits amounting to $21.3 million, around 40% of the overall earnings. According to the team, those numbers make Q3 2022 the best financial quarter in the company's history, all thanks to Cyberpunk 2077's newfound commercial success caused by Netflix's Edgerunners anime, the 1.6 patch, and the upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC

"In terms of financials, this was the best third quarter in our entire history," commented the team. "With consolidated revenues at 246 million PLN – mostly owing to strong sales of Cyberpunk–the Group posted 99 million PLN in net profit. This translates into a net profitability of 40% for the whole Group, and a whopping 47% for the CD Projekt Red segment. We carry on with intensive development work on the Cyberpunk expansion, as well as on other projects."

CDPR has also mentioned that Canis Majoris, an upcoming UE5-powered remake of the original The Witcher game currently being developed by Fool’s Theory, will feature a traversable open world, a feature that was not present in the original game. The studio described the remake as a "story-driven, single-player open-world RPG – a modern reimagining of 2007’s The Witcher."
