CD Projekt Red, the renowned video game developer, has recently revealed progress on two of its significant upcoming projects — The Witcher 4 and the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
In a recent interview with Aftermath, Paweł Sasko, the associate director of the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, shared that Project Polaris, more commonly known as The Witcher 4, is currently being "intensively worked on". Some of the developers from the Cyberpunk 2077 team have also joined this project.

Despite the criticism Cyberpunk 2077 faced for its technical glitches at launch, the team is committed to utilizing their experiences for the sequel. Sasko indicated that the sequel, codenamed Orion, is in the "fairly early stages" of development. To ensure the preservation of the unique DNA of the game, Sasko confirmed:
"Most managers, directors, and some leads who worked on Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty are on [the new] Cyberpunk."

With a large fanbase eagerly awaiting both games, the developers are dedicating their utmost efforts to the projects. The Witcher 4, unveiled in 2022 and touted as more than just 'The Witcher 3 in new clothing', is set to enter the production phase this year with the team expected to swell to 400 employees.
Meanwhile, the division working on the sequel to Cyberpunk is also expanding, bringing on board veterans from the Control, Hitman, and Diablo games. Although the Cyberpunk sequel is still in its conceptual phase, there's buzz around potential features like crafting, open-world events, and multiplayer elements that the team is reportedly considering.
