Check Out How Game Devs Trick Players Using Simple Layers

This owl has two faces.

Game Developer Maxime Minard, also known as Istrandar, showcased a peculiar behind-the-scenes look at one of the scenes from their game, an upcoming roguelike cardbuilder, Carnholt. It's mind-blowing how a neat, detailed setup of the deep world looks from the side when the camera is moved, as the developer mostly uses fixed points of view and projected textures.

With that impressive insightful shot, we can see how the game's world is shaped with a bunch of layers and even how an owl turns out to be creepy and has two faces.

Carnholt is a dark fantasy game based on the artist's illustrations, which combines deck building with tactical battles. It features an incredible art style, with an intricate and eerie, fantastic world.
