Check Out Painterly 3D Lantern Created with a Watercolor Shader & Vertex Paint

Lotus Design also unveiled the shader setup.

3D Artist Lotus Design unveiled a new fantastic piece of art – a watercolor-style 3D render of a beautiful lantern and a tree branch.

The creator not only captured the authentic painterly texture of watercolor paintings but also crafted a multi-colored shadow that looks as though painted by hand, with colors blending as if mixed on an artist's palette.

Lotus Design used Blender, with a workflow built around a watercolor shader and vertex paint, adjusting the shader for shadow areas and adding color to the wall object through vertex paint. The artist shared a shader setup:
