Clair Obscur & Stellar Blade Developers Get Praised by Their Presidents
The highest honor.
Over the years, video games have been gaining more popularity and recognition among people, becoming less of a niche hobby and more of a mainstream pastime. So much so, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Stellar Blade developers were recently praised by the presidents of France and South Korea, respectively.

Last week, during The Game Awards 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won nine awards, a record-breaking achievement. Some of the awards it secured are Game of the Year, Best Narrative, Best Direction, and Best Score.
President Emmanuel Macron recognized this achievement by making an Instagram post to congratulate the Sandfall Interactive team that worked on the game. "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has just been named Game of the Year in Los Angeles. A historic first for a French title," he said (via Google Translate).
And on the other side of the globe, in Asia, Hyung-tae Kim, the director of Stellar Blade, was given a Presidential Commendation at the 2025 Korea Content Awards for his services to the domestic game industry. The recognition wasn't only for Stellar Blade, but for Goddess of Victory: Nikke as well.
"This Presidential Citation is thanks to the developers and fans who believed in and supported Shift Up. We will continue to do our best to further promote the competitiveness of Korean games on the global stage," commented Hyung-tae Kim.
