Create Seamless PSX Textures from Photos with This Newly Released Tool
Cycletex: Retro Texture allows you to craft textures reminiscent of the 32-bit era.
Cycletex: Retro Texture Tool from Dream Mix Games is a 32-bit texture tool that lets you create old-school PSX textures from photos. The textures are suitable for use in games and 3D artwork.
With the tool, you can remove the background or automatically select a foreground based on a central object, flatten the perspective, crop (in 16- or 8-pixel chunks), downscale, and more; it also automatically makes textures seamless. You can choose from modern and pixel themes wth editable colors.
The program is available on Steam, and it's indeed a bit like a game: there are tutorials that are also missions, with which you earn fake money for later planned features.

We've featured quite a few cool tools and tutorials on visual effects recently. For example, learn how to turn a pixel artwork into a working QR code, visualize distortion and refraction glass effects with a free Blender tool, and create fake 3D objects from one texture with a free tool for Godot:
