Creating A Cheap Fog in UE4

Check out a guide on how to make a fog that would work for any scene you’re working on from PrismaticaDev.

PrismaticaDev shared a guide on how to create a fog in UE4 that wouldn’t cost you any money or require extra skills.

In the video, you’ll learn the step-by-step set-up of the post-process volumetric material and cell shader. First, you’ll focus on the basic node graph and add the static color to your game. Then, you’ll add a FogColour parameter to make the fog look more dynamic and synced with the daylight. The trick also includes a quick explanation of how to make a volumetric fog work with the cell-shading.

Check out PrismaticaDev’s YouTube channel to find out more UE4 tutorials. Don't forget to join our new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.

In this tutorial, you will be going over on how to create 4 very different materials from scratch in SD. The goal of these courses is to teach you a solid workflow that we also use in the AAA game industry.
