Crysis: Recreating a Game Scene With Megascans Assets
Check out 5 assets from Quixel Megascans Library that will help you recreate a scene from original Crysis.
This week, we've got some exciting news. Crytek has officially announced that Crysis will get a remastered version for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch. However, there is no more information on the release date, so stay tuned for the updates! The original Crysis was released in 2007 and is well-known for its amazing environments. While we're all waiting for more insights and technical details of the remastered Crysis, we thought why not try and recreate some of the scenes from Crysis using Megascans assets?
On this occasion, we picked 5 assets that will help you build the Crysis scene below. Check it out!
Since we've chosen the beach scene, the sand asset is truly essential. The Thai Rippled Sand suits the environment almost perfectly with its light-beige color tone and wave pattern.
When it comes to the vegetation in this environment, you can go two ways: pick plenty of assets with various tropic plants and put them all together or choose the closest to the original scene asset with the grass and adjust it as you wish. If you go the second way, check out this Grass Uncut asset. It can work for you nicely for sure!
3. Icelandic Rock Assembly
There are dozens of rocks in the library, so don't hesitate to take some time and find the one that will work best for your taste. For the rocks on the beach, we've chosen this assembly. The beige colors and the pattern will fit the scene with the chosen sand asset.
Unfortunately, there are no huge palm trees in the library, but we suggest you grab this Cat Palm asset and create a few groups of palms in the background. There are also other variations of palm leaves, which one to choose is up to you!
And for the last one, we picked the basement for the mountains themselves that you can see on the very background. We stuck to the idea of choosing close color tones for surfaces and picked this beach rock with the same light-beige tones. Tweak it as you wish, and there you go!
