Insydium has released an update for Cycles 4D, which brings new ambient occlusion, principled shading and motion blur nodes, and Cryptomatte support. What is more, it rewrites the tool’s node editor to improve interactive rendering performance.

The tool can deal with different rendering effects, including SSS, microdisplacement, motion blur, and depth of field. It is compatible with Cinema 4D’s native hair and Mograph systems, and with XPresso visual scripting.

The update is said to bring a range of rendering features, including new Simple Motion Blur, Ambient Occlusion, and Principled Hair and Principled Volume nodes. The software also now supports Crytomatte: Psyop’s open-source matte ID generation system.

There’s also a new IES node for IES lights and a new Bevel node. The node editor is said to have been rewritten for “increased speed and efficiency”.
