Detailed Cyberpunk-Style Environment Made in Unreal Engine 5

Maarten Hof has revealed the completed version of the Rainy Neon Streets scene, first announced in July 2022.

Senior Environment Artist at Ubisoft Massive Maarten Hof unveiled Rainy Neon Streets, a complete version of the artist's highly-detailed cyberpunk-style environment, first announced back in July 2022. Set up in Unreal Engine 5.1, the scene consists of dozens of futuristic-looking assets, made by Maarten using Blender and Substance 3D software, and features tons of eye-catching details, such as the previously-shown light-reflecting water puddles. According to the author, the goal of the project was to set up a scene that would focus on movement and rain.

As usual, the creator has also shared the scene as a downloadable asset pack that includes every asset you see in the renders and comes with two modular sets for creating buildings.

The pack also features:

  • Rain VFX and rain effects on the materials.
  • 18 Fully customizable master materials which include rain effects.
  • Option to paint wetness, dirt, and puddles on the ground material.
  • Channel packed Metallic/Roughness/AO.
  • Includes Lightmaps for all Meshes.
  • Supports Lumen and Nanite.
