Developer Creates The Sims-Style Furniture Building System in UE5

The system also works with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

Developer and the owner of the Cinematography Database YouTube channel Matt Workman, who earlier presented a setup for playing drums in Unreal Engine 5 using mocap, has recently shared an impressive behind-the-scenes demo showcasing a new UE5-powered project.

This time, the author unveiled The Sims-like WIP furniture system running in Cine Tracer 2, a UE5-powered virtual filmmaking sandbox developed by Matt that allows filmmakers to visualize short films, commercials, and feature films, which lets one easily add assets to the scene. According to the developer, the system also works with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN)'s room dimensions.

And here are a couple of environments set up by Matt using this system:

Previously, the artist also revealed multiple real-time clothing simulations made by combining MetaHuman clothing assets with Chaos and experimented with real-time clothing physics, showcasing a cool UE-powered cloth sim that could run on consumer gaming cards.

And back in 2020, Matt Workman joined 80 Level to help us understand what a virtual camera is, how it works, and how it can help game developers and filmmakers. You can check out our interview with the author by clicking this link.
