Dive into Spring Vibes with This Vibrant 3D Environment Featuring Koinobori Kites
Zehra Khan shared a new remarkable artwork.
Environment Artist Zehra Khan celebrated the beginning of late spring and summer with this vibrant stylized environment featuring Koinobori kites, traditional Japanese carp-shaped wind socks used in celebration of Children's Day on May 5.
According to the artist, the main focus was on the grass and adding movement to the scene to make it look lively. The environment, brought to life using a combination of Blender, Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine, captures attention with its lucid colors, diverse vegetation, and a bright accent of the kites. Zehra Khan shared some details about creating the vegetation and explained that the scene features three kinds of flowers facing in different directions, and the grass was made to look flowy in the alpha rather than relying on the wind.
You can take a look at the animated version of the scene with a wind effect and learn more details about creating the setup here. Also, Zehra Khan showcased a parameter setup used in the work and said that the core part was to add a rotate about axis node for the plants to get the bending effect for the flowers:
