A cute game created by " two Scots passionate about frogs."
If you've played Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and enjoyed the challenging core gameplay, but found yourself regretting every failure, then we recommend you check out Valley Peaks, created by indie studio Tub Club. This recently launched first-person platformer offers a much more calming and charming experience.
We were initially drawn to the game's colorful, hand-drawn art style, which is beautifully showcased in each mountain within Valley Peaks. The serene mountain landscapes and charming locales, such as Mount Shroom and Roston Ranch, offer a truly relaxing escape from the daily grind. Unlike many games, the chances of dying are slim - a conclusion I reached after jumping from the mountaintop in the demo version.
The primary task in the game involves installing radio towers at the top of each ridge to "connect the froggy inhabitants to the wider world". However, the game isn't solely about climbing. You can also spend time with your froggy friends, join in mini-games like Mortimer’s Boat Race, go on a Pumpkin Hunt at Bone Hill, or hunt for Golden Mushrooms scattered across the world.

The game introduces a unique climbing mechanic that challenges you to overcome obstacles such as swinging spikes and prickly vines. There is a variety of unlockable gadgets at your disposal, such as a Glider for transitioning between peaks or a Specialized Tongue to latch onto hard-to-reach spots.
Since its launch on July 25th, the game has garnered 97% positive reviews on Steam. If you're interested, you can try out its demo first before adding the game to your cart. Also, we recommend you follow the developer on Twitter to find out more about the game.
