Epic Games Are Expanding Their Campus

Epic Games has announced their expansion on Thursday. The construction will begin in 2020. The expansion of Epic Games wasn't out of blue. The company bought an 8.2-acre property and the street nearby that are next to this existing building. 

It is estimated that the new building will give room for more than 1,500 employees. A parking lot with approximately 1,400 parking spaces is also planned. 

Development is expected to take about 3-4 years. 

Epic Games launched in 1991 and became famous for games such as  "Gears of War" and "Shadow Complex". Well-known "Fortnite" gave them a dizzying success. The game eventually became a huge cultural phenomenon among teenagers.

The game brought $15 billion, which made it the most valuable startup in the state. The company has used this income in different ways. One of the most valuable ones was buying social media company Houseparty. 

For working on the new buildings in the headquarters Epic Games collaborated with workspace consulter Foster + Partners, architects JDavis, and JLL for construction project management. 

Cary Mayor has mentioned the government is grateful that Epic Games decided to stay in Cary, even though they have an opportunity to locate anywhere in the world.
