Experimenting With Epic Games' MetaHuman Animator Toolset

Madhav Shyam demonstrated how the recently-released toolset can be used to animate a 3D head model.

Creature Supervisor Madhav Shyam has recently showcased a series of experiments with MetaHuman Animator, Epic Games' recently-released toolset that enables its user to quickly and easily turn facial motion capture data into high-quality facial animations.

Using the toolset alongside Marmoset Toolbag, Unreal Engine 5, and one of 3D Scan Store's Metamorph 3D head scans, the creator managed to produce several lifelike face animations using self-made source footage captured on an iPhone. According to the author, he was responsible for rigging, deformations, and motion capture.
