Fans Reimagine Classic Tomb Raider As 2.5D Side-Scroller
Delca and Trxye's project is now complete and has a confirmed release date.
Some of you may remember this project from years ago, and if not, Delca and Trxye are working on a fan game that reinterprets Tomb Raider II as a side-scroller. It now has a release date, set for May this year.
The original Tomb Raider was influenced by the original Prince of Persia, and this project kind of brings that connection full circle. Featuring reimagined versions of 11 levels, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on. Let's just hope no IP holders come after the developers.
The game will be available for free on a website dedicated to Tomb Raider fan games, and it will be released exclusively for PC.
As Delca shared, they couldn't finish the game due to technical issues, so it was shelved. About a year ago, they returned to it, this time collaborating with Trxye, and rebooted the project, reworking everything from scratch.
