Minami Hamabe is among three actors joining Kojima Productions' upcoming action-espionage game, with a new poster also unveiled.
Thanks to a recent livestream celebrating Kojima Productions' 10th anniversary, we now have a wealth of new details about not one, but two of legendary game creator Hideo Kojima's most anticipated projects: the enigmatic horror title OD and the "next generation action-espionage game" Physint.
As OD: Knock took center stage during the event, Physint didn't receive a trailer, however, fans were still treated to the game's first official poster, along with the announcement of several cast members, including Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe. Also, an experimental CG model of Hamabe was showcased, created from a detailed 3D scan and rendered directly in the game engine.
Outside Japan, Minami Hamabe is known for Shin Kamen Rider and Godzilla Minus One. In her home country, she gained widespread fame for her performance in the live-action film Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and has appeared in numerous other adaptations of popular manga and video games throughout her career.
We don't know much about Physint yet, but it’s clearly being viewed as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear Solid series. During the 2024 Physint announcement, Kojima described the game as the "culmination" of his work, "created using cutting-edge technology and the best talents from around the world". The game will use an advanced version of the Decima Engine, with Kojima aiming to erase the lines between game and film.
However, it's important to note that OD is the next game on Kojima Productions' schedule, so Physint still has a long way to go before we see it.
