Get This Free Blender Add-On That Makes Hair Meshes Thinner at the Ends
MT Hair Taper gives hairstyles a smoother, more realistic look.
Take a look at MT Hair Taper, a free Blender add-on from 3D Artist MOTOMODEL that tapers the ends of hair-strand meshes for a more natural look.
The add-on preserves the strand's length and shape, narrowing it only in width. It is designed for grid-like hair-strand meshes, where quad faces are arranged vertically and horizontally, and where a horizontal row of vertices can be traced in sequence from the tip to the root.
The tool works well for hair bundles made from flat plane meshes and can also be used on cylindrical meshes that are closed horizontally. It is not suited to meshes with many triangles, radial vertex flow, or irregular divisions where a horizontal row can't be identified. The effect applies only to the part of the mesh where that grid continues from the selected row. Note that the add-on requires Blender 4.0 or later.
