GTA 5's Adventure You Never Saw: The Unpublished Making-of Documentary

Just imagine: the unpublished GTA 5 behind-the-scenes documentary, packed with"a string of stupid challenges", could be as wild as the game itself.

Ever wondered how your favorite NPC comes to life from a mere concept? Or what unfolds when the developer team takes a break from work? Well, a behind-the-scenes documentary is a magical key that unlocks the door to these intriguing mysteries.

During a recent Q&A session organized by Streamily, primary actors from the popular Grand Theft Auto 5 game, Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno, and Steven Ogg, revealed the existence of an unpublicized behind-the-scenes documentary.

The actors shared that a camera was continuously recording behind-the-scenes activities during the creation of GTA 5. This included not only the critical game development work but also the team engaging in "a string of stupid challenges". These precious moments were captured, but unfortunately, they never saw the light of day.

Luke, who voiced the character of Michael in the game, expressed his astonishment at the wealth of unused footage, stating:

"What’s nuts to me is that behind the scenes camera [we had] going the whole time and they never did anything with it. That stuff's gold."

Ogg, who also played a pivotal role in the game, confirmed Luke's statement, adding:

"I think at one point, didn’t we discuss how cool [it'd be] to make the making of? So that at this point we could have a documentary on the making of GTA. "

However, this precious-as-gold documentary was never displayed anywhere. And why Rockstar Games decided not to release this making-of documentary remains a mystery. As we approach the release of GTA 6, we can only speculate whether the behind-the-scenes footage from the previous title will ever be revealed.
