Hexed is being directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn, who worked on movies like Frozen, Moana, Zootopia, and Wish, and Jason Hand, who worked on Moana 2, Encanto, Zootopia, and Big Hero 6.

The movie will tell the story of Billie, a teenage girl who discovers that she has powers, but can't control them, and is expelled from her school after causing a disaster. She then discovers that she can open a portal to Hexe, the world of witches.

Yining Karl Li, Rendering Engineer at Disney Animation Studios, mentioned on a Twitter/X post that the movie is being created with Disney's Hyperion renderer, which is a streaming ray-tracer that was first introduced for the creation of the movie Big Hero 6.

Check out part of the animation process of Zootopia 2 that we shared in the past. For this one, the creators also used Hyperion.

The Hexed film is scheduled to be released on the 25th of November of this year.
