If he worked with Yoko Taro or Hideo Kojima, it would be a disaster.
Game designer and director Hideki Kamiya published a new video on his recently created YouTube channel, where he answered some fan questions, talked about the fate of Bayonetta, discussed the idea of collaborations with famous creators, and explained why he banned so many people.
With Kamiya leaving PlatinumGames, players want to know what's going to happen with Bayonetta. He said that while he did work on all three parts of the franchise, although he took a step back from the role of a director "into more of a supervisory role," in the latest title, the series now belongs to PlatinumGames and he'll have to keep his ideas to himself.
"I've talked about this in various interviews, that the Bayonetta series would consist of a total of nine episodes, and that I wanted to grow the franchise as the Bayonetta "Saga," but it seems like I may have to take the full saga to the grave with me. It's a shame. It's not like I own the Bayonetta IP, but I suppose those who do will probably keep it going."

Could Kamiya maybe create something as ambitious in collaboration with other famous creators, like Tomonobu Itagaki, the designer behind the Dead or Alive series? Apparently not. When answering this question, Kamiya said that working with NieR's maker Yoko Taro or Hideo Kojima would be a "disaster."
"It doesn't work like in Dragon Ball, where Goku fuses with other characters. Two people with completely different personalities and ideas would clash. There's no way you'd get a decent game out of that!"
"Too many captains will steer the ship up a mountain," he added; a successful game should only have one great leader.

There is one thing not connected to game development that interests people. Kamiya is notorious for generously banning people seemingly without a reason, and he finally explained why it happens or used to happen as he claims he doesn't do it anymore.
Apparently, he blocked people who tweeted to or about him in languages other than Japanese. Other than that, he thinks that people from other countries are very energetic and feels like many of them don't really look at what he tweets.
"One person asks me, "What do you think about this?" so I answer, then 5 minutes later I get the exact same question. They haven't bothered to read what I tweeted, So it was just "Hey, I found Kamiya! Let me ask him this!" over and over again. Basically, I got tired of getting the same questions over and over."
So he "tested" people by pinning an "I'll block you if you tweet at me in anything other than Japanese" message to see who actually read it. And if they didn't comply, he'd block them. However, it's become "a pain in the ass" lately, so he stopped doing it but might change his mind "any minute."
