Hideo Kojima Confirms Kojima Productions will Continue to be Independent

Hideo Kojima got some fans pretty worried when he posted a PlayStation Studios banner with Sony's games and no explanation. The banner had Kojima Productions' Death Stranding, and it got people talking about Kojima joining PlayStation Studios, which is not unfounded considering Sony's recent acquisition of Housemarque, Nixxes Software, Firesprite, Bluepoint Games, Haven Studios, and Bungie. Moreover, not so long ago Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan confirmed the company was going to buy more studios.

Kojima quickly cleared up the misunderstanding saying Kojima Productions is and will be independent. 

Kojima's studio gained independence from Konami in 2015 and has since released only one title – Death Stranding.
