See FR3NKD's demo and test a build on your own.
Francesco Piacenti, also known as FR3NKD, is always quick to explore the latest Blender features. This time, he tested the highly anticipated DLSS support in Blender's Cycles, which Blake Propst recently showcased in a Blender 5.1 build. FR3NKD highlighted several benefits of using DLSS, including global illumination, real-time reflections, refractions, and more.
If you're interested in trying it yourself, FR3NKD used Pablo Miranda's build. Alternatively, if you want to create the build on your own, there's a tutorial video available.
Also, Polyfjord has a great video explaining why this is such a big deal for Blender. The video tests various scenes and shows how they can be efficiently denoised using DLSS in Blender:
It's important to note that there are no known plans for an official release, and if it does happen, it's certainly not in the near future. Blender 5.1 has recently entered its beta stage, and as usual, users are encouraged to test it and report any issues to help ensure a stable release next month.
