Kat Zhang's Cool Setup That Allows Her to Move Fluid Particles with Her Fingers

The hand-tracked simulation looks as captivating as her other works.

Kat Zhang, a developer also known as The Poet Engineer, continues her experiments with hand-tracking simulations that are controlled with the tips of her fingers and can do amazing things.

In the new showcase, she played with a fluid particle simulation, manipulating a cube and watching the "orbs" inside bouncing around.

The setup was created with MediaPipe and the visual development platform TouchDesigner, while the particle simulation was made with NVIDIA FleX, a particle-based simulation technique for real-time visual effects.

Zhang's magic can be found on her X/Twitter. Check out, for example, her virtual handheld console and other spatial tests made with TouchDesigner.
