Kobe Bryant's Basketball Shot Reimagined In Stylized 3D Animation

Aldo Ghenno paid tribute to the Black Mamba.

As a longtime fan of the legendary basketball player, Aldo had been envisioning this idea for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to bring it to life. "It was one of those shots that reminds you why you fell in love with this craft in the first place," the animator shared.

The piece was animated in Maya using a rig from Ramon Arango and rendered in Blender. Alicia Tronco was responsible for the cloth and net simulations. Aldo also put together a quick breakdown of his process, which you can check out here.
