Learn How to Set Up a Cartoony Facial Rig in Blender With Geometry Nodes

Edward Ureña shared a step-by-step guide explaining how his Jack Skellington-looking rig was made.

Earlier this week, 3D Generalist Edward Ureña impressed thousands of people with his amazing cartoon-style 3D facial rig resembling the face of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. In a turn of events many of us have hoped for, the artist continued the project by releasing a step-by-step video tutorial demonstrating the working process behind the setup.

In his guide, Edward showcased the entire pipeline and the nodes behind the rig, allowing you to easily recreate the setup leveraging Blender's Geometry Nodes toolset. What's more, the creator has also shared the rig itself, which you can download for free over on Gumroad. Check out the tutorial attached below or by visiting Edward's YouTube channel:

Also, have a look at this amazing 3D rig of Mao Mao from Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart made by the artist by combining the rig with Blender's Shrinkwrap constraint:
