Lords of the Fallen publisher CI Games had high hopes for the game, it seems, as it poured a lot of money into it.
During a conference call on October 24, its CFO David Broderick shared the game's production and marketing costs, according to Bankier (via Game World Observer). The overall budget amounted to PLN 281 million ($66 million), making Lords of the Fallen the most expensive title in CI Games' history.
Out of these expenses, development costs, excluding engine license fees, came to PLN 178 million ($42 million), marketing took PLN 81.5 million ($19 million), and production of physical copies reached PLN 21.5 million ($5 million).

Lords of the Fallen is a reboot of the 2014 Soulslike action RPG. It provides a vast world for you to explore, an ability to customize your character and playstyle, and hundreds of brutal weapons.
Despite its less-than-perfect launch due to players complaining about performance issues, problems with multiplayer, and tedious gameplay, the game sold over a million copies within 10 days of its release. According to Broderick, consoles accounted for 54% of the sales.
CI Games is set on improving the game; its president Marek Tymiński says the developers from HEXWORKS are working on updates.
