Machine Learning in Digital Art: Upcoming Trends and Useful Tools

Foundry shared an overview of the impact of machine learning on digital art and named key tools empowered by ML that will be spot-on for 3D artists of any type. 

Upscaling Your Footage 

For upscaling, machine learning uses the trained data in low-res to create a new version of the footage with the same look but a bigger number of pixels. Such workflow speeds up the process and gives results in better quality. 

New Digital Faces 

Using digital faces helps to create new content using existing footage and also is time-consuming if some parts of the video content have to be changed without reshoot. 

Advancing Rotoscoping 

Foundry’s project, SmartRoto, levels up the rotoscoping using ML algorithms that decrease the production time and generally optimize the whole non-creative process.
