Mark Zuckerberg Announced New Team at Meta Focused on Generative AI
It is exploring experiences with text, images, and video.
Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new product group at Meta that will focus on generative AI. It will build "creative and expressive tools" at first and then move to develop AI personas "that can help people in a variety of ways" and experiences with text (like chat in WhatsApp and Messenger), images (like creative Instagram filters and ad formats), and video.
"We're starting by pulling together a lot of the teams working on generative AI across the company into one group focused on building delightful experiences around this technology into all of our different products."
Such a decision is not surprising at all, considering the raging popularity of text-to-image tools like Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and DALL-E as well as the recent rise of ChatGPT.
