How is the Clovers sit on top between tiles? for mine, blend modes doesnt seem to be working... they follow the height of the tiles which results in extreme distortion of clovers following the height changes of tiles

Hard Surface Modeler Andrew Hodgson has published a series of videos that demonstrate his approach to different shapes and contain tons of tricks for Maya users. The stuff shows is pretty basic, but the same techniques could be used on larger scales. 

Fundamental Corner Execution 

In Maya you can always use hotkeys for everything, but the artist tried to use the menus as much as he could to slow down a bit. The menus are accessed through holding:

  • Space bar 
  • ctrl + right click 
  • shift +right click
