As spotted by Andrew Price aka Blender Guru, the Blender 5.0 alpha phase is getting a one-week extension to give developers more time. Previously set for October 1, beta branching is now planned for October 8.
The final release is still set for November 11, though that may change based on bug tracker progress in early November.
