Nomad Sculpt Adds Direct App Linking To Blender & ZBrush
Works on iPad and Android devices.
Nomad Sculpt, a 3D modeling app for mobile and desktop developed by Stéphane Ginier, recently got an update that makes it easier to work with other 3D tools. With version 2.9.24, iPad and Android users can connect Nomad Sculpt to the desktop version of Blender over the same network, allowing them to sync their work back and forth.
Sculpting and PBR vertex painting in Nomad show up in Blender in real-time, with the data automatically assigned to the correct slots. Changes to the mesh in Blender are also instantly synced back to Nomad.
You'll need Extensions for this, so it's probably best to use Blender 4.2 or later. In the video below, Vertex Snpai explains the new feature in detail and shows how to set it up using Blender 5.2 LTS:
The developer describes the linking as "generic" and says it could potentially work with other apps too. This includes ZBrush, which already supports data transfer with the desktop version of Nomad Sculpt. To use the feature with mobile devices, you'll need to run a Python script first, which is available on GitHub.
