Over 25 Free Maya Animation Tools From Game Dev Animator

Flying Wild Hog's Cutscene Animator, Sebastian Jaksan, has introduced KeyFlow, a complete production workflow he's been developing for years, drawing on his animation experience in the industry. Think of it as two tools in one: a video review studio and a professional Maya toolkit for animators.

KeyFlow Studio makes it easy to work with reference materials, compare videos, draw directly on images, add notes, and conduct live feedback sessions. This lightweight tool also lets animators trim and retime video references, adjust them to fit a specific shot, and send the finished reference directly to Maya or Blender with a single click.

KeyFlow Tools is a collection of more than 25 tools, like SelSet, Mirror, RelativeSpace, and PlayblastTool, designed to speed up your everyday animation tasks. It offers a customizable dock above the timeline, smart tooltips with GIF previews, and a search dialog that quickly highlights the tool you need.

The software supports Maya 2021 through 2026 on Windows. KeyFlow is currently free and available for commercial use. It's still actively being developed, so if you have an idea, suggestion, or notice something that could be improved, the developer encourages you to get in touch.
