Palworld Developer Warns about Fake Mobile Clones

"Downloading these apps may lead to the leakage of personal information."

Palworld is a phenomenon the industry is going to discuss for a long time, you don't often see a game attracting millions of concurrent players, after all. It's compared to Pokémon all the time, but it now has its own clones, just two weeks after launch.

Its developer Pocketpair warns players about fake Palworld apps for phones that started appearing on AppStore and Google Play bearing the game's name. "Please be aware that downloading these apps may lead to the leakage of personal information stored on your smartphone or to fraud," said the studio on X/Twitter. It has already reported the issue to Apple and Google, but don't forget: Palworld exists for PC and Xbox for now.

The appearance of clones is not surprising at all: everyone wants to take advantage of a game that was bought 19 million times in just a couple of weeks. This fame along with obvious "inspiration" is bothering The Pokémon Company as well, so it is investigating possible infringement of intellectual property rights.

In other news, Palworld has recently released version 0.1.1.3 on Xbox, fixing multiple bugs.
