Phil Spencer Confirmed Xbox Has a Few Unannounced Games Coming Out in 2024

In an interview with Famitsu, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer was asked about the June 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, Starfield and a goal of releasing four first-party titles per year.

In an interview with Japanese media Famitsu, Phil Spencer said that the team has been working hard since November last year to showcase these games to fans. According to Microsoft Gaming CEO, the positive reaction from the fans energized the team and motivated them to work harder. “I am very happy and proud of their work”, said Spencer.

He was also asked about Xbox having a goal of releasing four first-party titles per year and he mentioned that they have announced some of their 2024 lineup, but there are still a few more that haven't been announced yet. "In next year's [first-party] line-up, we've already revealed and announced some games, and there's still a few more to be announced," answered Spencer. "I'm confident that the Xbox players will know that the games will be released in a stable flow in the future."

First-party Xbox titles that are currently scheduled for a 2024 release include Avowed, Senua's Saga Hellblade II, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Towerborne.

The interview also covered up the upcoming title Starfield. Phil Spencer confirmed that he has been working with Todd Howard on Starfield and have been playing the game since November 2022. He praised the Bethesda Game Executive Producer, saying “what Todd is doing with Starfield is bigger than anything Bethesda Softworks has ever done, and the systems, scale, and story are amazing”.

During the conversation, the journalists also seized the opportunity to learn more about the development of a new Kojima’s game. Phil Spencer shared that he visited the studio last year to hear about their current ambitions and play a bit of the game. “What's amazing about Mr. Kojima is that he sets extremely high goals for innovation and creativity”, said Microsoft Gaming CEO. He was asked about the release date but confessed that it “fully depends on Mr. Kojima”. Earlier, Spencer commented on the lack of localization in Starfield for some languages.
