Photorealistic Recreation of a Real-Life Location Rendered in UE5.1

The project was assembled from eight LiDAR scans.

Have a look at The Mosta Chapel, a photorealistic 3D recreation of the Chapel of St. Paul the Hermit, located in Mosta, Malta, created by Stargate Studios, a Malta-based production company known for creating visual effects for films and television.

According to the team, the scene has been set up using aerial and ground-based photogrammetry and eight LiDAR scans and rendered in Unreal Engine 5.1. The goal of the project was to create a fully-digital environment that would mirror a real-life location with millimetric accuracy, as well as showcase the company's achievements in VFX, PreVis, virtual production, and production design.
