Play As Shapeshifting Leaf Creature In This Fast-Paced Roguelite Action Game

Hasan Tarhan announced Leafborn.

A little over a year ago, we shared a cool demo by Hasan Tarhan called Leaf Hero, a programmable particle physics system built on his earlier projects Leaf Physics and 3D Pixel Physics. It has since evolved into something bigger: a full game where you play as a humanoid creature made of leaves.

Leafborn is a fast-paced 3D roguelite action-platformer with dynamic shapeshifting, allowing you to carry up to three forms per run and adapt your playstyle. There is no parry window and no blocking: your survival depends on continuous movement and aggression.

Every run starts from scratch, but your progress is permanent. Between runs, you earn upgrades that unlock new forms, expand your loot pool, and reveal hidden paths across the floating islands of the Canopy.

Hasan Tarhan handles every aspect of the project, including design, programming, art, and audio. The game is being developed in Unity 6.3 LTS with URP, and all 3D assets are created in Blender.

"Leafborn began as a question: what would a character feel like if it didn't have a body? What if every motion were a physical event – a thousand leaves reacting, scattering, gathering?

That question became a prototype. The prototype became a year. The year became this: a 3D roguelite action, designed and built by one person in Türkiye, on Unity. I write the code. I tune the physics. I cut the trailers."
