Teardown-Style Pixelated Object Physics in Unity

Hasan Tarhan unveils a new amazing experiment with video game physics.

Game Developer Hasan Tarhan has presented 3D Pixel Physics, a new setup for creating teardown-style physics for pixel art 3D objects. As described by the author, this framework first renders 3D objects in pixel art and then employs a method similar to the one used in Hasan's 2022 LeafPhysics solution to introduce physics to pixels.

Developed within Unity using C#, the setup utilizes the engine's job system, which lets you write simple and safe multithreaded code so that your application can use all available CPU cores to execute your code, thus improving the performance of your application, as well as DrawMeshInstanced.
