Sbug Games' Lead Developer has shared a new demo for the upcoming game.
For those who may not be familiar, back in April 2022, Riley Neville, a Game Developer and one of the creators behind Webbed, a heartwarming 2D platformer with impressive web-based mechanics, presented an adorable procedurally-animated isopod. This little creature could run and roll around, all brought to life using Unreal Engine.
What began as an experiment in procedural animation quickly blossomed into an upcoming game, with the developer consistently sharing behind-the-scenes showcases, offering insights into the game's new features, levels, characters, animations, gameplay mechanics, and more.
In the most recent demo, unveiled just a few days ago, it was revealed that the journey of the cute isopod is about to become more dynamic vertically, all thanks to a novel addition – the power of flight. According to the demo the game's central character now sports wings akin to those of a dragonfly, granting it the ability to take flight, and offering players one more possible mode of transportation to explore.
Previously, the developer also added breakable objects to the game, gave the isopod the ability to nap and perform martial arts, showcased a fish character created for the game in an unusual way, and more:
