If you wanted to know how the workflow behind the animation in Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, here's a glimpse.
While we usually see 2D concepts turned into 3D models, MAPPA's processes are a little different: the studio built a 3D scene first and then transformed it into a 2D animation, although the initial storyboard was, of course, drawn and bot sculpted, as revealed in the videos shared by CG World.
"The approximately 5-second cut in which Chainsaw Man is blown away was created as a movie during the layout stage. Chainsaw Man was checked in a simplified preview state with color and shading, with the understanding that it would be replaced by hand-drawn animation."

If you like Sota Shigetsugu's work, X/Twitter has plenty of work from other anime:
Did you know that MAPPA used Blender for animating Chainsaw Man? The team appreciates its ability to visualize wireframes as lines in the Viewport and quickly export previews, which results in a faster cycle of sharing and confirming the final images. The software is becoming more popular among famous shows lately, and it's really nice to see.
It is also widely utilized by artists for creating fan art of the anime, like this Makima or Reze reimagined in Animal Crossing style.
