Whether you're a Harry Potter fan or not, you were probably fascinated by the chess match in the first movie, with animated pieces breaking each other. If this is the case, you'll love this VFX by Dmitrii Aksiutenko.

He says that Asian VFX studies often use a chessboard as the backdrop, and he decided to use one to destroy a chess piece in this flashy animation.

The Unreal Engine scene is absolutely magical, with the sword appearing out of thin air and piercing the rook. I'd love to see a game with such mechanics, maybe it would make more people interested in chess.
