Shiba: A WiP AI That Can Analyze Houdini Files and Suggest Improvements

You can already try out the tool by signing up for a closed beta.

3D Generalist and Director Aaron Smith has recently unveiled Shiba, an impressive generative AI-driven tool created to drastically simplify Houdini workflows, currently in production.

Being designed "with artists in mind", the AI is capable of generating new Houdini scenes based on a text prompt, analyzing the software's .hip files and suggest improvements, and even point out any potential future roadblocks one might face during production. Additionally, Shiba can "answer questions about a variety of VFX and computer graphics topics", making the AI a good technical art-oriented alternative to search engines.

"It took years for me to get comfortable using Houdini daily, and even now there are plenty of hidden tricks that I wish I'd known earlier," commented Aaron on the idea behind Shiba. "With the rise of ChatGPT and generative AI – I wanted to empower artists with the tools to learn quicker than ever."

While it is currently WiP, the AI can already be tried and tested by signing up for a closed beta here. Also, don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
